How to use a corded Plantronics, Jabra or VXi headset with an NEC phone

To successfully use your headset with your NEC phone you will need to perform two tasks; 1) Enable the Headset Mode on your NEC phone and 2) Adjust the settings on the smart cord to #7.  The video below will demonstrate how to adjust the settings on the smart cord.

Steps to use a corded headset on NEC phones

1. Use setting #7 on smart cord (see video for details)
2. Enable Headset Mode within the phone menu options 
3. Press the “speaker” button to answer/disconnect calls with the corded headset.
4. Note: Enabling headset mode will disable the usage of Speakerphone with some NEC phones. If usage of both Speakerphone and Headset is desired you will need to program one of the feature buttons.
